Plug into the future at RACQ’s Electric Vehicle Test Drive Day
Missed your chance to test drive an electric vehicle at RACQ MotorFest? Register for our upcoming EV Test Drive Day on Saturday 24 August.
For many Queenslanders, the thought of one day owning an electric vehicle (EV) is daunting, especially if you’ve never experienced what it’s like to drive one.
However, new data from Australian Automobile Association’s (AAA) EV Index confirms plenty of Queenslanders are opting for an EV as their transport of choice.
When compared to the second quarter in 2023, Queensland has seen an almost 19% increase in EV sales with more than 11,000 purchased in 2024 so far.
On Saturday 24 August at the RACQ Mobility Centre, the Club is hosting its fourth test drive day, giving members the chance to get behind the wheel of an EV.
RACQ Events Manager Tamara Van Der Walt said there would be a variety of electric vehicle manufacturers attending the event.
“We’re excited to have BYD, Kia, Polestar, Renault and Subaru on board for the fourth installment of our EV Test Drive Day,” Ms Van Der Walt said.
“These events are a great way for members to get behind the wheel of an EV and not feel the pressure to buy one, like you would with a car dealership.
“Members can test drive at least three vehicles in their allocated session, which means it’s a great opportunity to compare different features of a range of models.”
Ms Van Der Walt said an EV expert would also be at the RACQ Mobility Centre to answer any questions.
“RACQ’s own EV expert will be onsite to answer member questions related to EV ownership, functionality as well as charging infrastructure,” she said.
“Whether you’re in the market for an EV or are interested in finding out more about the State’s transition to low-emission vehicles, it’s worth coming along on Saturday 24 August.”
Members are encouraged to sign up to one of the three allocated time slots to avoid missing out.
