How do I cancel my car insurance?

You can cancel your car insurance online using My RACQ. To make this easy, we've provided a handy list of steps to follow. Please note: You may be directed to Click to Chat or receive a callback to finalise your cancellation.

To cancel your car insurance:

  • icon-step-1
    Log in to My RACQ here to access your insurance dashboard.
  • icon-step-2
    Select the car insurance policy you wish to cancel
  • icon-step-3
    Scroll down to the 'Policy summary' subsection and select 'Cancel policy'
  • icon-step-4
    Complete the form to cancel your policy. This form includes 'Reason for cancellation', 'Cancellation date', 'Refund details', 'Review' and 'Cancellation confirmation' sections. To cancel your car insurance, you must complete all sections.
