How does the Emergency Boarding benefit work?

RACQ Pet Insurance includes an emergency boarding benefit as part of your cover. This benefit covers the costs to board your pet at a licensed cattery or kennel if you are unexpectedly admitted to hospital for 5 or more consecutive days, up to an annual limit of $1,000.

The Emergency Boarding benefit is paid on top of your ‘Illness and injury to your pet’ cover.

What doesn’t the Emergency Boarding benefit cover?

This benefit doesn’t include cover for circumstances where:

• You’re in hospital to have an elective surgery, or because of something that happened, or you knew about, before the policy started.
• Someone who lives with you is able to look after your pet while you are in hospital.

Do I have to pay an excess when claiming the Emergency Boarding benefit?

You don’t have to pay an excess when you make a claim on this benefit.
